any other book or video. With the latest news focusing on biological warfare and terrorism much attention is being given to the history of the Black Plague and its impact on the world then and now... |
In the Wake of the Plague Norman Cantor is one of the eminent Medieval historians of our day. His body of work is complemented well by his recent book, In the Wake of the Plague. Mr. Cantor integrates the latest theories of biological disasters and disease control to bring in perspective the vast devastation caused by the plague in the Middle Ages. Mr. Cantor also plays the "what if" game, considering how different history, and our lives today, would be if not for the plague and its far-reaching effects.
Mr. Cantor's style is noticeably relaxed in this book, even inserting some humorous quips on occasion. This is a great book and will be appreciated by all history buffs and those interested in pandemic disease.
